Inscription is the latest
profession in the World of Warcraft introduced with the Wrath of the Lich King expansion. This profession is very
useful especially now when players got a chance to put 3 major and 3 minor glyphs on themselves which will improve
their gaming performance greatly.
With Inscription you can
create various major and minor glyphs suitable for different classes, scrolls, vellum, Darkmoon cards and off-hand
tomes. With Inscription you will also get a gathering skill called milling. With the use of this skill you will be
able to create the needed mats from herbs.
Where to
train?
Inscription trainers could
be found in every capital city and allow a player to train his skill up to 300. For 375 skill a player needs to
visit a trainer in Hellfire Peninsula while for 450 skill he needs to seek a trainer in
Northrend.
What are vellums
used for?
Vellums are types of paper
that Scribes can make and they are used by Enchanters to store their enchants. Like this an Enchanter is able to
trade or sell any of his enchant without the need to meet his client directly. This also allows an Enchanter to
enchant gear of his alt chars.
How about
glyphs?
Like said before, the
glyph system is something new in WoW. Each player can place glyphs of he chooses which are suitable for his class.
He can place a total of 6 glyphs – 3 minor and 3 major glyphs. If he has a dual spec he can also make different
choice of glyphs for that other spec and save it.
A Scribe can also produce
various BoE (Bind on Equip) off-hand tomes. This is not so profitable as other services a Scribe can provide but it
can be useful.
What is Minor
Inscription Research?
This is an ability every
Scribe has at his disposal. By doing a research a Scribe can discover new glyphs. In order to perform a research he
will need:
Tools: Virtuoso Inking Set
Reagents: Moonglow Ink and 2x Light Parchment
With the mentioned mats a
Scribe will be able to make random scrolls and while doing that you have a chance to discover new glyphs
(minor).
Inscription and
Herbalism
When it comes to levelling
Inscription, Herbalism is definitely a good choice for a second profession. You will need a lot of herbs to make
mats needed for your Inscription skill.
Is Inscription
profitable?
Inscription could be a
very profitable profession if you get really into it. Just by making the glyphs you can earn quite a bit. Some
glyphs are cheap to buy and yet some are more expensive. However, you will be able to discover more glyphs as you
go and you will be able to craft them.
By teaming up with an
Enchanter you would be able to profit greatly just by selling enchants placed on vellums. Maybe you are an
Enchanter already. Use your Inscription profession to sell your enchants faster and easier. No need to spam
“Enchanter LFW” on the Trade Channel.
You can also earn quite a
bit by making the Darkmoon cards or even whole decks. These cards once combined form a specific deck which will
start a quest. A quest ends when a Darkmoon fair time comes and you a player can hand in his deck and receive a
really good epic trinket.
WoW Inscription
Guide 1 - 450.
The Inscriptionist’s main resource are herb. Herbs that you
mil to pigments an then create glyphs.
You mil 5 herbs to 2 - 3 pigments. Each herb tier gives
different pigments: You need only one herb from a tier. Eg. you could level just with Peacebloom without using the
other Tier 1 herbs at all.)
To level Inscription to 450 you’ll need the following ammount
of herbs:

less materials.)
