Engineering is definitely one of the most fun professions in WoW. Engineers basically combine different
parts in the purpose of production of various items. They are able to craft bombs, guns, bullets, armor pieces,
pets, bots, ground and flying vehicles, etc.
Many players choose Engineering just for fun and because of special items they can make such as a Flying
Machine. This is a flying mount that requires 300 skill in Engineering and you can obtain schematics for this
fantastic mount in Shadowmoon Valley at Niobe Whizzlespark.
Is it hard to level up Engineering?
Engineering is not like any other profession. It requires time and patience but it will certainly prove to be
fun. In order to skillup Engineering faster you will need Mining because many of the engineering items are made
from products of metal.
It is possible to level it even without Mining, but then the whole process will be much more expensive since you
will need to buy the mats on the Auction House.
Junk or useful items.
Engineers are known for their ability to create many items and of course, junk! However, some of the products
made by Engineers proved to be very useful.
One of the notable products of Engineering are definitely the Field Repair Bots and Goblin Jumper Cables.
These Bots are used in instances and especially in raids where the whole group is practicing a certain boss
tactics and instead of waiting for all players to go, repair and come back. Bots are used to speed up the process
and make it more convenient.
Goblin Jumper Cables are particularly useful if you belong to a Hunter or a Rogue class. When your group wipes
on a fight you can either reset agro or go stealth and then try to resurrect a healer.
This way you will save your group a lot of time traveling and rezing. Other popular items are the epic goggles
which are worn as a headpiece and do not only make Engineers look cool, they also give nice stats.
Engineering, same as Blacksmithing, Leatherworking or Tailoring, can specialize in a few different fields. At
the skill level of 200 you will be able to choose your specialization. It can be either Gnomish Engineering or
Goblin Engineering.
The difference between these specs is in the location of their teleporters and in abilities given by their
trinkets. Gnomish Engineers have Transporter - Gadgetzan and Transporter - Toshley's Station while Goblin Engineers
have Dimensional Ripper - Everlook and Dimensional Ripper - Area 52.
Wrath of the Lich King Expansion and Engineering
The WOTLK expansion brought many nice abilities and items to all professions and so it did with Engineering. As
from this expansion Engineers are able to craft motorcycles!
The Mekgineer's Chopper is a schematic available for the Alliance players while Mechano-hog is a schematic
available for the Horde players. Getting all the materials together is quite time-taking and expensive but
nevertheless the popularity of these motorcycles is growing each day.
Engineering pets
With all the crazy gadgets Engineers can play with, pets are the most fun ones. There are 2 different ‘bind on
pickup’pets they can create - Lil' Smoky & Pet Bombling. Both recipes can be obtained in Gnomeregan, a level
28-35 instance located in Dun Morogh.
Grab yourself an Engineering Trainer located in any capital city in Azeroth. If you can't find the trainer, then
just ask a city guard for directions.
