One of the most famous hybrid classes in WoW is definitely the Druid class. A lot of players find this class to
be a lot of fun to level up and play.
If you rolled Alliance the only race which can become a Druid will be the Night Elf race and if you rolled Horde
your only choice when it comes to the race will be the Tauren race.
Druids have many interesting abilities but the most fun one is definitely the ability to shapeshift. Druids have
a lot of forms they can shapeshift into like Bear, Cat, Sea Lion and Travel form.
When the Burning Crusade was released Druids got the flying form as their flying ability. Other classes also got
the ability to use a flying mount but on the level 70 while for Druids this was available at the level 68. A fun
thing when it comes to this ability was that a Druid flight form is an instant cast same as any other form they had
which made them even more movable.
Druids could become very good healers, casters, melee dpsers and tanks and their talent tree is divided into
three specializations – Feral Combat, Balance and Restoration. If a Druid chooses to spec Balance he will become a
typical dps caster with a special form called the Moonkin form. While in this form, a Druid will grant his
party/raid members +5% on the spells’ critical strike and this is one of the reasons why other classes of casters
love to have a Moonkin in their group.
Moonkins are often called “Boomkins” for fun and are typical mana consumers. To get the best damage output they
will rotate their spells and plus use two DoTs – Moonfire and Insect Swarm. This spec can also do a lot of damage
with AoE spells like Starfall, Hurricane and Typhoon.
Druid tips and tricks!
Their gear needs to be rich in spell power, haste, crit and hit rating and with a good use of spells and
adequate gear they can really own the damage meter.
Feral Druids can choose between a tank spec or a melee dps spec. While in bear form they will be really good tanks
since they will have a lot of armor and stamina, and if they choose the cat form they can also be really good melee
dpsers.
With the Restoration talents, a Druid can obtain another form very useful for healing -the tree form. When
shapeshifted into a tree a Druid will grant 6% extra healing done to all the targets in his group/raid and his
spells will consume less mana.
Healing Druids are famous for their HoTs - Healing over Time spells and are favored in raids. Their healing
abilities are dependent on their gear which needs to have a lot of spell power and spirit and it is said that Resto
Druids are able to regenerate mana much faster than any other healing class.
A Druid’s armor should preferably be from leather but they can also wear cloth. If you choose to become a Druid
tank or melee dps it is strongly advisable to avoid wearing cloth since armors made from leather always have much
better stats.
Cloth armors can be used by healing Druids or even Moonkins since they usually stand in the back and cast
without being in close combat. A Druid tank needs to wear armor which has a lot of Stamina so he can be deal with
the hard hits while tanking.
No matter if you like to play PvE or PvP, you will definitely have a lot of fun with a druid since you can
constantly change your build and style of game play. Leveling will also be fairly easy for a Druid and the best
spec to choose for fast leveling will definitely be Feral Combat.
As a Druid you can constantly shape shift, run and swim faster and also dive without any trouble, and what’s
more fun – it is all instant!
