WoW Blacksmithing Guide

WoW Blacksmithing GuideWoW Blacksmithing Leveling Guide – (Or Crafting Plate & Mail Armor and a Lot of Other Goodies!)

Blacksmithing is one of the crafting professions that are available in the World of Warcraft. As a Blacksmith you will need a Blacksmithing Hammer which can be bought at any of the general good or trade supply vendors.

You will have a Blacksmith trainer that will allow you to make Blacksmithing one of your professions and you will also be able to learn new Blacksmithing plans which will allow you to make new and better items as you level it up.

What you need in order to level up Blacksmithing are the different kinds of ore that can be found in the World of Warcraft. You have three options to obtain the ore: you can buy all these ores for amazing amounts of gold, you can transfer them from another character you have which has the Mining professions which allows one to gather the ore or you can take Mining as your second profession.

Blacksmithing isn’t that hard to level up if you can gather the necessary resources along the way. You will be able to make great items with Blacksmithing.

As you level it up to skill 150-200 you will mainly be making Mail Armor and Weapons of all kind. As you level it up higher you will start making Plate Armor while still learning new weapons as well.

Because you will mainly be making Mail and Plate Armor this profession suits Warriors, Paladins and Death Knights perfectly because they can wear Mail Armor up to level 40 and can then start wearing Plate Armor.

At a certain skill level you will be able to choose between becoming a Weapon Blacksmith or Armor Blacksmith.

If you choose to become a Weapon Blacksmith you will still be able to make quite an amount of different pieces of Armor and vice versa. You will however gain access to patterns that allow you to craft rare items. It must be said that the most important items in Blacksmithing can be made no matter which path you choose to follow.

At a later level Blacksmithing is very nice because you will be able to create a lot of epic plate armor and special epic weaponry. These can be used by the Blacksmith himself or sold for nice amounts on the Auction House. As a Blacksmith you will also be able to make Belt Buckles.

Belt Buckles can be applied to belts. Once applied on a belt, a socket will appear in the belt and a gem can be placed in there to make the belt better. As a Blacksmith you have the advantage of being able to create Socket Gloves and Socket Bracer.

These can be applied on your bracers and gloves and once applied you will also be able to place a gem in them to make yourself even stronger. Socket Bracer and Socket Gloves can only be applied on the Blacksmith himself so these cannot be traded which might not be good for the money but it does gives the Blacksmith an edge over others that do not have professions in combat.

Blacksmithing is a nice profession especially for those classes that wear Plate Armor. Combined with Mining it is easy to level and you can also make steady amounts of money with it.
