WotLK Secrets Review

I have been playing Wrath of the Lich King for a little while now and a few people asked me to give my impressions. While I’ll save the details of my journeys for longer posts, I wanted to toss out a tool I’ve been using to help in said journey and a few comments on why it has been so useful to me thus far.

When you get started in Northrend, the breadth of content is pretty large. You have two starting zones to choose from with more than 130 quests each for each faction and a whole lot of different reputation factions, tons of new instances, and a whole lot of new professions, gold grinding spots, and even an option to go back north to the classic continents of WoW and start a Death Knight.

If you haven’t played yet, trust me when I say that you will be overwhelmed when you first set foot into the new content. So, what does my tool have to do with all that? Well, what I’m talking about is WotLK Secrets. There has been a lot of talk of late about WotLK Secrets, the newest guide from T Dub, the guy behind a whole slew of other WoW products, guides, and videos.

A good amount of the buzz has been positive, but there have been a lot of reviews that have questioned the validity of the guide and whether or not the thing is legit. I wanted to go ahead and put my experience forward as a voice for the guide in a truthful review of what you really get in WotLK Secrets.

The Content

The guide content is pretty impressive. From the first moment you open it up, you’re going to find about 250 pages worth of info about the newest stuff coming into WoW with Wrath of the Lich King. To be honest, I didn’t even know about a lot of this stuff when I first bought my copy of WotLK and it was nice to see the spread of new info to help out those who were just getting into it for the first time.
 
Everything is covered in some degree of detail. The most impressive parts to me though were the complete Inscription guide showing how to level up, how to make gold, and all the various different glyphs in the game. The other truly impressive addition was the Raid and Instance guide, with more than 12,000 words of strategies about everything from the first new instance in the game to the three stage strategy to defeating Malygos with your raiding party on Heroic.

The Final Verdict

With WotLK Secrets, you are getting a complete guide that covers every aspect of the new game in depth. If you have not yet played through to Level 80 or if you are just confused or lost where you are, you should check out this guide and get a good idea of what you are missing out on and how to optimize your play time and style.
