WoW Death Knight Guide –World of Warcraft's First
Class of Heroes
Death Knights are the latest class in the World of Warcraft. This class was brought to us by ‘Wrath of the Lich
King’ expansion released in 2008.
In the World of Warcraft, the DKs were introduced as a “Hero” class. However, this doesn’t mean that the DK
class is stronger compared to any other class. Interesting things when it comes to DKs is they attack system which
is not based on mana, rage or energy but it is based on runic power.
There are two runes available for all types of spells and attacks, and these runes have a cooldown which is
consumed when the spell/attack is used. The DK has three different types of runes: two Frost, Blood, and Unholy.
Same goes for the talent trees a DK has – Frost, Blood and Unholy.
A DK is a plate wearer, can deal a significant amount of melee damage and can also cast several spells from
afar. The Death Knight class can play both a tank and a good melee dps role in any dungeon group and raid. A DK can
use one-hander and two-hander weapons and cannot wield shields.
If you want to create a DK you will need to have another level 70 char in possession. A good thing about this is
that you can start leveling your DK from level 55. Another nice thing is that your DK will start with bags, some
money and green gear.
Death Knight Leveling Guide
Your journey will start in The Ebon Hold in the Eastern Plaguelands. At the start you need to fight on the side
of the Lich King. While doing the quests around The Ebon Hold you will receive orders directly from the Lich King.
By completing the quests in this area you will receive your talent points and better gear.
Since your char starts on the level 55 you won’t have some talent points, however, you will be able to earn
those points back by doing quests. When you reach the level 58 the quest chain you were following will change
dramatically. You will be able to escape from the Lich King’s command and you will join his enemies to fight by
their side.
After this event occurs you will be able to go anywhere you like, however it is advisable to proceed to the
Outlands since it will be easier for you to level up there. Your DK will have all the necessary talent points, nice
gear and a nice story to tell when he/she enters the Outlands.
As any other character, a Death Knight should also choose two primary professions. The choice of professions is
solely up to you, however there are a few professions that can match a DK good. When it comes to most of the
characters, Enchanting is a nice and useful profession to have because you will be able to enchant your rings.
These enchants are available only to the enchanter himself and they are considered to be a good upgrade for any
char. Jewelcrafting/Mining combination is also nice since a Jewelcrafter will be able to make gems with better
stats only for himself.
Later on in the game you will be able to obtain better gear which will have more sockets and this is why
Jewelcrafting is nice since all of the gems you can make will be improving your char’s stats. With JC you will be
able to craft other pieces of Jewelry as well, for example necklaces.
Blacksmithing could also be a good option for your DK because you will be able to craft plate gear which you can
actually wear. With BS you can also make sockets for your wrists and gloves and a belt buckle which comes as an
additional socket for your belt.
The DK class is very fun to play. When it comes to the down points of this class, there isn’t any just the fact
that there are many players who rolled a DK. This happened simply because this class is very easy to level up since
you start at level 55.
