Are you new to shamans or just new to WoW? If so you will benefit from a WoW shaman guide.
To begin with only the Horde could play shamans, but with the introduction of the Burning Crusade the Alliance also can play them.
A short WoW shaman guide
Shamans are hybrids.
So the talent tree specialization that is chosen decides where their character’s strength lies.
Shamans can be healers or inflict damage. Most of the shaman’s powers develop from the use of totems.
Totems remain fixed to the spot they are placed, shamans can place 4 at in total.
Having the ability to wield double weapons, enhancement shamans particularly can do plenty of damage whether solo or in a group.

Your very own guide to using WoW shaman talents. Like all the other classes shamans can access three talent trees, these are, restoration, elemental and enhancement. While primarily you’ll need to have a main focus, because of the double specialization you can choose two main talent trees and switch forwards and backwards as your situation calls for it.

Elemental
This particular balance tree allows the shaman to be a ranged caster, just like the druid’s balance tree. Be prepared to have to stop for mana replenishment quite frequently until you reach a high enough level that your mana regeneration improves.
Enhancement
This talent tree focuses on increasing the amount of damage you do, and it’s very efficient for soloing.Together with windfury weapon buff you’ll be able to blow through crowds quite rapidly.
Restoration
Healing is the focus of this talent tree.
It is handy for the shaman who wants to join the end game instances and raids.
If you plan to start with this tree leveling with a team or group should be what you have in mind, then you can destroy mobs a lot faster.
