WoW Mining Guide
Mining is the most popular profession in World of Warcraft. It’s a very reliable money-making skill as all around Azeroth you can find veins of ore to mine and sell the ores, stones, gems and minerals you find.
You can also smelt the ores into precious bars of metal – making them very valuable for Blacksmiths, Engineers and Jewelcrafters to build their wares from. The best combination of professions is Mining and one of these three.
The top level is 450, it takes a while to get there, but it’s worth it for the extremely valuable stuff you can mine for when you get there. Here is a brief overview of how to reach level 450 in mining as quickly as possible:
All races start in different places, but we’ll just look at the mining-masters Dwarves for now (also Gnomes who begin in the same area). for each other race, check it out here: Mining Leveling Guide. You must get trained apprentise Mining first in town, then reach level 30 by digging for copper ore in Dun Morogh and Durotar. Smelt the copper into bars using your smelting ability and save them.
At level 65, get trained to Mining Journeyman. Mine around the Thousand Needles and the Redridge Mountains, you want to search for tin. Smelt the tin and combine it with the copper bars to get bronze bars. This will level you fast to around 95.
Next, yo uwant to find and smelt silver bars until 125. Do this around the Arathi Highland and the Thousand Needles. At level 125 you can become Expert Mining. When you reach 155 learn how to smelt gold ore – start buying the gold ore and turning it into gold bars, after about 30 times you’ll hit level 175. You can always sell these bars to afford the ore.
At 225 train up to Mining Expert. And move to the Hinterlands and Tanaris area to continue Mining. At level 230 start smelting Truesilver Ore until level 245.
We are now moving into the high levels of mining and you want to get over to Winterspring. Start mining Thorium veins here, get your trainer to train you smelting thorium bars. The Eastern Plaguelands have lots of Thorium. Then mine Fel Ore around the Hellfire Peninsula until level 325. And from there you can mine Adamandite Ore around Nagrand to reach level 350.
