How To Build A WoW Warlock That Focused On Affliction

When starting as a warlock, the talent build is one thing that you need to set right first because it will affect the rest of your warlock’s life. A warlock has three talent trees that you can focused on; this guide will cover the affliction tree.
Affliction Warlock
Affliction warlock using DoT (Damage over Time) as their main killing method with some talent from other trees just to raise survivability. Haunt is your bread and butter spell; it comes with three devastating effects: shadow damage, raising all DoT damage, and add the damage dealt to your health; complement it with Life Tap and you will get a killer combination. These are other talents that you need to get:
- Improved Curse of Agony; increase this spell damage by 10%
- Suppression; increase hit % and reduce mana cost.
- Improved Corruption; increase your corruption damage by 10%.
- Improved Drain Soul; as you kill by using Drain Soul, you will get 15% mana.
- Amplify Curse; reduce curse’s cooldown.
- Fel Concentration; just as prerequisite for the next talent.
- Nightfall; a gateway to Shadow Trance state.
- Empowered Corruption; increase your corruption spell.
- Shadow Embrace; good for DPS and debuff.
- Siphon Life; gain life as you attack your opponents.
- Improved Felhunter; regain mana ability for your pet, good when pairing with Dark Pact.
- Shadow Mastery; increase your Shadow spell damage or life drain by 15%.
- Eradication; chance to increase spell casting speed.
- Contagion; increase the DoT and make it more resistant to debuff.
- Dark Pact; our other mana source, take it by draining from your pet.
- Malediction; raise both your spell damage and the chance for periodic critical strike.
- Death Embrace; having your health below 20% during raid is a must-to-avoid-at-all-cost situation so you might not need the drain life bonus, but the damage bonus will make the fight easier.
- Unstable Affliction; great DoT spell and nice present for anyone try to dispell it.
- Pandemic; adding critical rate to your DoT.
- Everlasting Affliction; reset the duration of your Corruption spells on the target, one of the best Warlock talent.
Mix some Demonology talents:
- Improved Healthstone; improve the effect of your healthstone, just for filler.
- Demonic Embrace; increase your survivability against AoE attack.
- Fel Vitality; raise the stats of your pet, thus very useful for Dark Pact.
This affliction build is not the only one since you can alter many points here and there to fufill certain aim; for example: other WoW warlock guide may recommend to add some points into Shadow Bolt and complement it with Nightfall. One thing for sure, if you want to build a powerful warlock, you will need all of these: good talent build, good leveling speed to reach maximum level, and nice amount of gold to fund your gears; get the answer for all of those at ultimate wow guide review.
