Shaman PvP Secrets – The Basics
Knowing how each class will perform in PvP, it's strengths and weaknesses, is crucial for a Shaman. This is even more important for Shaman. That's because there have been significant changes to the attributes of this class over the years. So even if you do find information on your character's strengths and weaknesses, that information could be out of date. So let's discuss the current situation.
Shaman PvP Strengths
Shaman used to be among the most feared of all PvP classes. Your class is no longer among the PvP elite, but you can still do well at it and have a blast at the same time. You just need to be smart about it. Your biggest weapon is your array of totems. Depending on which you choose, they can heal you, hurt your foes, and give you all sorts of additional benefits.
Beyond the totems, your Shaman has the ability to wear mail armor and use a shield, as well as heal when you're injured. All told, this makes you a formidable opponent. Choose your talents and gear wisely and you'll be able to hold your own out there.
Shaman PvP Weaknesses
All that said, your Shaman does have some potentially fatal weaknesses. You lack any form of crowd control, which means you can't easily disengage from an enemy once the fight begins. In addition, most of your attacks are short range. This means that ranged fighters like Hunters and Mages can pound you from outside your range, and do serious damage before you can get close enough to hit back.
Now you have a basic outline of the strengths and weaknesses of this fun class. Playing this class is a lot tougher than it used to be, but that doesn't have to stop you. With a good WoW PvP guide in hand you'll get specific advice on talent builds, gear selection, and tactics to maximize your strengths and minimize your weaknesses when fighting every class of player.
