How Your Warlock Can Dominate PvP Today
PvP combat is in your Warlock’s future, even if you’ve avoided it so far. Wrath of the Lich King transformed World of Warcraft’s World PvP. The shape of things to come is visible in the new real time PvP battle zone called Lake Wintergrasp, where the emphasis is on real-time World PvP.
In this new zone, you go at it on the live server to earn points you can convert into a wide variety of special items such as the new Heirloom items that any of the player’s characters in that account regardless of that character’s level can use.
Given the popularity of Lake Wintergrasp and the increasing amount of PvP combat in other popular games, there will surely be even more World PvP in the future. So let’s talk about how your Warlock is going to cope with the changes.
If you’re playing a Warlock in WoW PvP, you’re a target. Many PvP players hate Warlocks, while even more fear them. Your ability to curse other characters to death makes you a vicious opponent, and a powerful one. Despite your powers, you aren’t indestructible, and many of your opponents would like nothing better than to put you down. Life is very interesting for Warlocks in PvP combat.
It’s pretty easy to play a Warlock in PvP. All you need to do is lay a bunch of DoT (Damage Over Time) spells on your poor victim, then keep casting Fear on them until they fall over dead. Simple and brutally effective, if you do it correctly.
Being a Warlock, you can also suck mana right out of other characters for your own use. You can even regenerate your own health. And if you want, you can make life particularly miserable for other spell casters by siccing your Felhunter on them. To sum it all up, if you know what you are doing, your Warlock can defeat any other character class.
That said, if you don’t know what you’re doing, your Warlock is going to be dying fast and often in PvP. Warlocks can’t attack or defend themselves without magic, so they are at the mercy of any character that is able to drain their mana, remove their curses, or resist their fears. A veteran Warlock player knows the skills necessary to deal with any opponent capable of resisting their magic. This is where a quality Warlock PvP Guide comes into the picture.
So while Warlocks are incredibly powerful, they will go down before certain opponents if they don’t know the proper strategies and tactics. A quality PvP Guide makes it easy to acquire those strategies and tactics, based on the hard-earned experience of other Warlocks who’ve been there before. Without such a Guide, you’re doomed to many hours of experimentation and endless deaths while you try to figure out what you need to know yourself.
