Learn the art of selling is one of the most important things you need to do to make a ton of gold. World of Warcraft is the most a player based economy, therefore, learn to sell these players where the majority of your profits will come. In some cases, you will sell directly to the NPC, but for the most part, you will sell directly to players.
When should you sell items?
In short, whenever someone will buy. There really is not a bad time to sell, but there are best times to sell. When you sell an article in either the auction house, or you try to sell it at auction in the chat channels, you want to be able to achieve the largest market.
We have done extensive research and studies and found that North American servers World of Warcraft most populated in the first TV time. For those of you not familiar with the TV prime time they are seven to nine hours (depending your time zone).
The North American World of Warcraft servers however are not divided in EST, PST, MST and time zones. This means in fact there is a large range of prime time (starting at 7pm EST on the east coast and ending at 12 pm EST). You want your auction during this period of five hours. We also found that the servers are more populated between 9:30-10:30 ET.
Knowing when you can sell your time to plan game accordingly. It is recommended that you spend your time negotiating the contract / during the heat of prime time, when you have the most buyers. Agriculture, Trade work, leveling, quests, etc. can be done during the hours of inactivity.
What should you sell?
Now that you know when to sell, you need to know what you sell. Items that are sold are generally divided into three main categories: crafts, farming equipment and objects of quests.
