An Introduction to Gold in WoW
Maintaining a good flow of gold is the most important thing to uninterrupted play and obtaining levels in World of Warcraft. When your gold supplies hit rock bottom you completely lose momentum in WoW – from one moment to the next you can’t repair equipment, purchase healing and mana potions, buy mount, purchase items, even purchase food and drink. The quests, fun and adventure have to be put aside for the moment while you try to work out some money.

There are some good methods for having steady cash-flow throughout the game. And then there are some very clever advanced techniques, which the best payers make sure they learn.
The basics are to choose your professions wisely. Don’t pick your professions because they seem fun or just very useful. Serious gold-making professions give you more fun playing and what’s more useful than having a bag full of gold?
If you are not too fussed mining and skinning are great, simple professions that will always earn you good gold throughout the game. You are never far from a mine to mine for valuable ores, or a creature to skin for its valuable skin. Two other good professions are blacksmithing and Alchemy – they both make you gold too, but they save you even more. Blacksmithing saves money on repairs for a fighter, and Alchemy saves on man potions for a magic-user. So chose your professions wisely.

As you play more, it’s a good idea to try to learn how the markets work in World of Warcraft. The game’s real money-makers understand the economics of the game. Like businessmen they can buy and sell items at the acution house, making profitable deals on a large scale.

You will be searching for bargains to buy low and then sell high. Constantly check the prices of items to see what people are buying them for. Whenever you come across a clear bargain, buy it quickly or someone else will The ideal it to find motivated sellers – people who want or need to sell their item fast and don’t want to wait for a bidding process.
When you have found one and a bargain, offer them a low price by prvate message. When you are selling it, you can take a day or 2 and take bids for the best price. And always try to sell on a Friday. A recurring pattern is that items go for higher prices on Friday, perhaps because it’s at the beginning of the weekend and people are happy to pay a bit more.
