Check Out These Great Tips for Warcraft Special Items
Picking up the special drops in World of Warcraft can not only be really helpful, but super profitable as well. Once you pick up enough of the special items and drops, you can start selling off the excess in the Auction House and to vendors. Selling items is a fast way to earn more money in WoW and it's super easy once you know how.
Black Lotus, Blood of the Mountain, Dark Runes, Essence of Water, Larval Acid, and Stonescale Eels are all pretty easy to pick up and can help you make a lot of gold.
Black Lotus can be picked up in Wintersping close to the cave of the blue dragon. The Badlands and Eastern Plaguelands also have black lotus. You'll find a great many of tips for special items and more by checking out the Dugi's Ultimate Warcraft Guide.
Blood of the Mountain is available through mining Dark Nodes at the Searing Mountains. Blood of the Mountain sells well in the Auction House and you'll need it yourself once you're close to mastering your profession and for quests later on.
Dark Runes are obtainable by killing mobs in Scholo and are essential for the game, so it's always easy to sell them off to make some extra cash because everybody needs them. For faster ways to get more gold, you can also check out the Hayden Hawkes Guide, one of the best guides online for making quick, fast, and tons of gold.
From the mobs in the Felwoods, pick up Essence of Water. The drop rate is super high, so it's easy to make money pretty fast by just picking this up and selling it.
Grinding slugs in the Eastern Plaguelands drops Larval Acid pretty frequently. Pick up as much as you can because it usually sells for about 10 gold a piece!
Stonescale Eels: easiest to find during the night on the Kalimdor coasts and sellable for 1 gold piece or more each.
The Auction House
When you're new to auctions and selling, don't expect to be able to just jump in and make a ton of gold right away. You need some idea about how things work, what fair prices are, and what stuff people will and won't buy. So watch the Auction House for a few days and get a feel for things.
I recommend keeping a list of some of the items above and their sale prices. Also look for other hot sellers and items that consistently sell for a lot of gold. These will give you a place to start.
Just like the stock market, don't auction off a ton of one thing at one time. The object here is to make gold. So you want to get the most gold you can for every item you're selling. Since the common items aren't in high demand and aren't going to be worth much, you can go ahead and sell a few of those at a time. But for your rare items, only list one or two at a time so you can get top dollar.
The Auction House gives you a base price. You can higher it, lower it, or keep it the same. Don't get too carried away and price everything high because it likely won't sell. Likewise, don't price things too low. Watch other player's auctions to determine a fair price for your stuff. Putting other players out of business by always keeping your items priced super low is really looked down on. You'll get some enemies pretty quickly by doing so. Everyone in the game is trying to get the best items and their epic flying-mount, etc. So let's keep things somewhat fair
