Rogues: The Most Deadly Class in WoW
When you begin World of Warcraft, there are no character classes that can match the Rogue for pure deadliness.
They are the kings of stealth and can do the most burst damage (sudden damage in a couple of blows) out of any class. You should play a Rogue if you want a character that is highly tactical and always in the thick of things. But these assassins really excel at sudden, surprise attacks, and also in taking out the enemy’s defences.

You will become an expert in taking control of any combat situation – preventing your victim from acting in the right way by stunning the, blinding them or otherwise incapacitating them while you finish them off. Rogues are the criminals of WoW, also skilled in lockpicking, poisons and Alchemy, hand to hand brawling and assassination.
You should be warned that because of their deadliness in PvP play, and the threat they pose to other players, Rogues often get targeted out to be attacked first by other players. Rogues are not very popular to say the least, well it’s more a case of being feared and respected than being unpopular, but if this appeals to you then prepare to play one of the most fun classes in WoW. It’s not exactly easy to kill a Rogue anyway.
At the same time Rogues are sought after for questing groups as they can use stealth to scout ahead and open locks, etc.

Playing a Rogue you have to focus first on Agility – this is your number one skill, as it builds up your Dodge and Stealth abilities. Dodge is an essential skill for Rogues as they cannot wear more than leather armor but are always in close combat situations and so need the ability to not get hit much.
I would say that the second most important statistic to focus on is Stamina – which builds up your hit points, and despite their sneaky non-confrontational nature Rogues do constatly get drawn into long battles, both in PvP and questing alone.
A Rogue must deal as much burst damage as possible, so concentrate on increasing this all the time. When you reach level 10 you will be able to learn dual wield, which is great, allowing you to use two weapons at once. And then Rogues start to become truly dangerous at level 20 when they can learn Poisons – and can poison ther weapons too. Here is a very good tip to remember, try and get a weapon for your off-hand that just hits as rapidly as possible – damage is not so important. This is because every time you strike the enemy you have a chance of applying your poison, so the more times you hit the more likely you will be to poison them for the real damage!
